The people who will know your parent.
Five people share the daily work of Maple Grove. Each of them has been here at least four years. Each of them was hired because of who they are, not what their resume said.
Sarah Chen, RN
Owner · Director of CareSarah grew up at Maple Grove. Her parents ran the home from 1994 to 2018; she took it over with her husband David that year. Before Maple Grove, she spent eleven years in skilled nursing — geriatric, oncology, and dementia care — at Overlake and Virginia Mason.
Sarah does the clinical work: care plans, medication management, coordination with physicians and pharmacies. She knows every resident’s medical history by heart. If you call the home, you will probably reach her.
David Chen, LMHC
Owner · Family LiaisonDavid is a licensed mental health counselor. Before Maple Grove, he spent fifteen years working with families navigating grief, anxiety, and the difficult middle years of caregiving — first in private practice, then with a hospice organization.
David handles the family side. The first conversation, the move-in transition, the harder conversations later. He is the person to call when something is hard.
Maria Santos
Lead Caregiver · 8 yearsMaria started at Maple Grove in 2017, under Sarah’s mother Linda. She has been the constant. Eight years, four hundred mornings of breakfast, more bedtime routines than anyone can count. Maria is a certified nursing assistant with additional dementia care training.
If you asked her about any resident — what they like for breakfast, what gives them comfort when they are anxious, what was on their wall when they moved in — she could tell you.
Jamie Williams
Caregiver · 5 yearsJamie came to Maple Grove in 2021 after seven years as a home health aide. They handle most evening and overnight shifts during the week. Patient with the long, slow work of dementia care; especially good with residents who are anxious or sundowning.
Jamie also runs our weekly music hour — playing whatever residents want, from Sinatra to Brahms to old hymns.
Linh Tran
Caregiver · 4 yearsLinh joined in 2022, fresh out of CNA training, and turned out to be a natural. She covers most weekends and one weeknight, and is the person who organizes the garden’s tomato harvest in August. Bilingual in Vietnamese and English — important to one of our current residents and her family.
She is also, by quiet consensus, the best cook on the team after Sarah.
Every caregiver at Maple Grove completes 40+ hours of dementia care training and 12 hours of continuing education each year. Background-checked, vaccinated, and matched to the culture of the home before they start.
